Asher and his family lives in a city in the South of Israel he was a very intelligent and sincere young man. From one day to the next his life at the age of 22 years and that of his family turned into a nightmare. Asher started seeing things and reading prophesies on signs and objects. He also became very aggressive and started hitting his family members and broke furniture and all sorts of items around the home. His mother eventually left the house because she was afraid and finally his father threw him out of the house in order to protect the younger children and wife from daily trauma. The Police found him wandering the streets and in an emergency state and brought him to the hospital in which he was admitted immediately. The head psychiatrist told the family about our Home – shalvat Haim and they got in touch with Rabbi Edery as soon as possible.

He was placed in the residential facility in Ramot 06 and there he was given the therapy he so desperately needed. At first he refused to take any medication what so ever and yelled and screamed a lot that he wants to return to his family and sleep all day! But eventually he gave in with the help of the many staff members present in the home he started to get out of bed , clean and organize his room and helped out by doing chores around the home.

He became more stable with the help of medication and therapy and started to ride a bike every day and attend the job training course.

Then he crashed! He started to revert back to his past behaviors and started hitting the staff members and breaking expensive items in the home. He was sent back a second time to the hospital and Rabbi Edery worked closely together with the doctors to finally get him stable again on the right dose of medication . Finally after 3 weeks he returned to Shalvat Haim and has started to work with electronics proving himself to be more stable than he ever has in his entire life.

The family started to visit him at least once a week and after one year of being in the home at Ramot 06 the psychologist isworking with the family to take him home for a shabbat and acclimate him into familiar surroundings.

The Parents are so grateful to Shalvat Haim for sticking it out with him until now and bringing back to a healthy and decent state of mind.
